Certified Standardization & bottling


In accordance with EU regulations, organic products must be distributed in the market, after they have been tested and certified, bearing the label “Organic” on their packaging. In every member-country of the EU, a specific authority is designated to supervise the organizations responsible for testing and certifying organic products. In Greece, this task is the responsibility of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and more specifically, the Directorate of Organic Farming that is responsible for quality control. The “Olive Oil of Pelion”, implementing all the relevant procedures and specifications, has received the relevant HACCP Food Safety Management certification of the Hellenic Organization for Standardization EN ISO-FSSC 22000:2010-ISO-9001:2015 for its organic and plain olive oil, with the purpose of processing and standardizing its olive oil, adding this way extra credibility to its products.

Olive Oil Standardization process

The family business, having obtained the necessary license, standardizes its olive oil in specific tinplate and glass packaging. The bottling process of the olive oil occurs in 100ml, 250ml, 500ml and 750ml glass bottles and in 1liter, 2 liters, 3 liters and 5 liters tinplate bottles. This way a top quality virgin olive oil that can be used in every meal is offered at the best possible price. Olive oil’s standardization takes place at a privately-owned certified bottling plant in packaging that bears a numbered identification label, after a strict quality control of the olive oil is conducted by the Ministry of Development and AGROCERT.
